Are you just as fertile after a miscarriage without a DnC as u are when u have a DnC?? Miscarried in Oct 06 and have TTC since.
Dr said i wouldn't have to have a DnC because my hormone level went back down to zero within 3 weeks of the miscarriage

A D&C can "get it over with" quicker, but it wouldn't cause a person to start having fertile cycles any sooner -- not unless you were having a long, drawn out miscarriage that went on for weeks.
A D&C carries the risk of damage to the uterus and actually is associated with an increased risk of fertility problems. It should be done only when the miscarriage is not proceeding naturally.
If your HCG was zero, that's perfect, it was over with.
See your doctor if you are worried.
Good luck.

I had to have a couple D & C's after miscarriages and have had no problem conceiving. I think it is a very rare case when a D&C causes fertility problems; I know so many women who have had them and get PG right after!
If your miscarriage was very early (5 or 6 weeks) there would be no reason to have a D&C because the body treats it almost as a late period (I also had one at 5 weeks and my doctor said treat it as a late period, and I was fine).
Sounds like something else is going on... you should get a fertility work-up and have everything checked out. If you're still not PG you should see an RE (reproductive specialist) because they are much more skilled than an OB/Gyn with fertility issues.

Ergh. I'd DEFINATELY get a second opinion. I had a miscarriage and we thought the same thing. Six months later still no pregnancy so I went and saw a reproductive endocronologist. He looked me over thoroughly on the first visit. More thoroughly than had been done in the past two years while tttc.

Anyway a simple ultrasound showed that the baby was still attached to my uterus. Nothing would ever implant with an embryo still attached.

PS: A DNC will clean out your uterus and let you grow healthy tissue. Three months after mine I was pregnant :))

You are more fertile since you didn't have the DnC. My Dr. told me it could cause problems trying to concieve in the future if I would have had to have a DnC. You are lucky.
