Someone on the Yahoo answers was defining this stuff and I do not think they had it all exactly correct so I am wondering if someone can define it better than when I explain it to the kids - safely.

So how does honor interelate with all of this? I never thought about that and I am not sure if any kid ever asked but it sounds related and important now that you mention it.

Love is the least of all.
Love is a word tossed around.
Friendship is everything. A friend is loyal and cares for your best interest.
Intimacy is opening yourself up, being naked emotionally or physically, letting your guard down, sharing secrets, making yourself vulnerable.
Commitment is a matter of integrity, doing what you said you would, following through, not quitting.
Responsibility is accepting your consequences, in that if you do the right thing, you merit pleasant ones, and if wrong, accept unpleasant ones. Responsibility means you think about the consequences before acting and speaking and choose accordingly.
If you love someone, first you are their friend. You are someone that they can be intimate with, share with, trust and confide in. You would not ask them to endanger their body, spirit or future.
When you use your words to create a friendship or to convey love, you make a verbal commitment and you accept responsibility for your words.
This is what a marriage is. This is what a family does. This is what separates friends from pals, buddies, neighbors, colleagues.
You are missing honor.

People will have different definitons for it all. THey are not all related all the time. Typically in a romantic relationship that person will be someone we love, we have sex with, who is our friend, whom we are intimate with (no the same as sex), who we are committed to, and have a responsibility to. But each of those things is completely different.
Explain them separately if you need to. Then explain how in a romantic relationship they are all present.

Well you can have sex without any of those things.
I also think you can have friendship without intimacy and sex.
If my parents started explaining this to me, I'd spew. Too touchy feely. Believe me, kids know. Leave them be. If they come to you and ask you questions then answer, but the best way to be yourself unless you are a hideous smog monster then I have no advice for you but run for the hills.
