THANK YOU!! every time i watch the pens i'm like why are his pads so yellow? he's not on the bruins, or any other team that has yellow has one of their colors...he needs knew ones...plus their kinda ugly yellow

To the so called Devils fan, everyone KNOWS Pittsburgh doesn't use Gold but "Pittsburgh" Gold. Yeah it is Yellow and they use it as a general thing because Gold doesn't look good. Seriously, I was watching the Pitt Panthers Football game on Senior Day against Louisville and they wore their all gold uniform. It looks TERRIABLE in a large quantity like that. Also look at the emblem of the team. Notice the triangle BEHIND the Penguin. What color do you call that? Most times it shows up more of a Yellow then Gold. Yet it represents the Golden Triangle, and anyone who knows Pittsburgh knows that, from the nickname based on the rivers and shape of the city and when it cleaned up. When they cleaned it up from the sooty days they took the nickname of the Golden Triangle.

Fleury's worn those pads since his playing days in juniors with Cape Brenton and then the minors with Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton. Maybe he's superstitious and doesn't want to change them. They are starting to become his trade mark.
On a side note Fleury's junior team The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles colors are black and yellow.

As crazy as it sounds I like it, if the pens steered clear of the gold and went with yellow it would be a perfect fit, but yellow has a bad wrap in the NHL, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Nashville. I guess the Kings' old jerseys are another good example.

The yellow pads are of course a team color as well as makes them look bigger and may give him the mentel edge over shooters
