A lot, too many to remember, too many to count. And yes I do, all the time.

But regret in a way is good, regret shows that you have:
1. Acknowledged my mistake.
2. Learned from my mistake.
3. Care to do it differently.

Regret is true learning to me. I mean, take any simple knowledge you consider fact. How do you know it's true? To really know it's true, you'd have to feel the blunt of what is wrong. Everything humans truly 'know' are based on things we've regretted.

Take the simple fact, 1+1 = 2. Why do we believe it's true? We could just trust whoever told us, that it's true. (I'll get to that later). Or we could believe 1+1 is 3, only to eventually find out we're missing one every time we're adding 1 and 1.. which would lead to problems, and eventually we'd decide it'd be easier if 1+1 = 2, and regret that we thought 1+1 was 3.

Alternatively, if we had just chosen to believe 1+1=2 because we trusted someone, it was likely because we regretted not trusting them prior. Or some form of experience lead us to trust that person to begin with. Maybe we didn't listen to a teacher, and eventually learned that he/she was right about something, so now we listen to them. Or maybe our parents told us that teacher was right.

Now parents, do we trust them blindly without regrets? Maybe. Or maybe we didn't when we were in our mother's womb, and we regretted and thus learned the proper way to do it. Or maybe not, it's biologically engineered into our DNA.. but why? If you believe in evolution, it is quite possible it's only engineered in our DNA because somewhere in the past we've made a mistake, that eventually lead us to rely on trusting our parents when we're born.

I believe regret is learning. We shouldn't fear regret, but not regretting, for the less we regret, the more likely we are to regret where it hurts in the future.

I always wish I could do things over again, but let's face it, if I were to really do it over again, technically I'd have to be myself before it happened, because everything else would be. So I'd probably make the exact same mistake, not being armed with what I know now.

And only because I know what I know now, I realize I should have done it differently. Catch-22?

I don't live a day of my life without having a regret, I still think of the things I've done in the past that I regret. One could even say regret is the worse feeling ever, and I'd probably be one of them. But we can't say for sure we have learned nothing, and that no situation in the future will not be better because of this new found knowledge. After all, if you want to go back in the past, that must mean you've learned something you feel you could do differently for the better.

Hope this helps,
Ken

I don't regret anything I've ever done because I can't worry about the past. Everything I've done, bad, good, hurtful, even the things I wish I could take back, are all learning experiences. What ever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. You have to learn from your mistakes and not do the same thing twice. Who's to say that if given the chance to do things over you wouldn't mess up worst the second time? I just believe in learning from my mistakes and making a better future.

I had regret a lot of things but I don't want to start over again because even though I start over again I think, I still cant make things perfect.
As it is said :
"Learn from your mistake"
"Experience is our best teacher"
Without the regretions I will never be me

I have no regrets. When a stupid thing happens or I do a stupid perhaps regrettable thing, I look at it as a learning experience. Don't make that mistake again!, I tell myself. This helps me become a better person. You have to be able to forgive yourself to adopt this attitude. Even if you did a mean/regrettable thing on purpose you can learn from the outcome by noticing the consequence of what you did and resolving to not do that again.

Most of the time, I don't regret anything that I have done. Don't get me wrong, what i am trying to say is, it depends on my intentions or motives or how or why I have done that. I believe no one can be really that bad of a person. Most of the time, they react to forces (from influence or people etc) acting upon them. And this is me. I don't know if you believe me, but not once in my life for all the bad mistakes i have done, have I deliberately or purposely done it to hurt others or myself. I always think good things for others.

I do not regret anything. For every choice I have made has led me to where I am now. Changing even one small factor of my life would totally change the outcome I have reached thus far.
You live with your choices and learn from your mistakes. There is no room for regret.

Oh goodness no, I would not want to start over.

Everyone has regrets.

Learn to forgive yourself and learn from your mistakes.

Accept the fact that everyone makes mistakes.

Concentrate on today not yesterday.

Get busy and do something to take your mind off yourself.
Read a good book, watch a comedy, clean the house, make a good dinner, visit friends or family, go for a walk, exercise.

Dont keep dwelling on your past and your regrets.
The past is over and you cannot change it and, no amount of worrying or self-recriminations can change the past.

You're a good person and you deserve to be happy.

Allow yourself to be happy by forgiving yourself and moving on!

Tomorrow's a brand new day and new beginning!

Count your blessings!

1. Absolutely.
2. You can start over again. We all can. Every moment.
3. If the past and your regrets are in the moment: you have not started over.
4. As for others in your life: You start over by doing differently by them.
5. As for yourself: You start over by doing differently by and for yourself.
6. Actions; not words.
7. If others won't release you from the past; perhaps you must release them.
8. If you won't release yourself from the past; then you haven't started over.
9. Thank You. This has been great just for me.
10. ps- watching "The Butterfly Effect" was rather profound for me when regreting my past.

Regret is an exercise in wasted time. After realizing the mistake simply move on. Wayne Dryer put a book out in the 70's called, "Your Erroneous Zones", that covers it and other exercises in waste.

I must have regretted something but truthfully I just can't remember it. I don't wish to start over again anything because all is the same in my opinion.
