If I have to be drug tested to get the money I work for- shouldn't people getting a welfare check have to be drug tested when they do NOTHING?!

No they shouldn't,it violates their rights.Besides,people from all walks of life have drug and alcohol addictions.It's not fair to stereotype all people on Welfare.

Unfortunately, most people dont' have a clue what it takes (or means) to be on welfare. The term has become a deriseive battlecry of the right-wing, fueled by Libertarian emotion.
(1) MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR WELFARE
(2) In reality, what is spent on "welfare" in the US, is a minute fraction of what the counrty as a whole spends on weapons systems.
What is known as "welfare" in the US ia restriced to "Aid for Dependent Children" People on welfare have no privacy. The are not allowed to own anything of possible value. They are subject to search of their living quarters at any time without warning. I doubt if the added cost of drug testing will significantly reduce welfare expenditures.
Now, "corporate welfare" (the much bigger bucks our government spends in support of select businesses,) there is something really worth scrutinizing.

Your drug test at work is to determine if you would be a risk at work, either in a safety sense or being responsible (and liability issues).
Getting family assistance has nothing to do with working on a job.

I don't think anyone's privacy should be invaded b/c they need a little gov. assistance. You don't have to work in a field that requires you to drug test, it's your personal choice. So just because your a little ticked off you had to pee in a cup don't take it out on those who have nothing.
