My husband and I went to see the movie "Children of Men" in theatres today. I was wondering what others thought about this movie, I just wanted some additional opinions and was curious to see if anyone enjoyed it as much as I did!? Please let me know what you thought of this movie if you have seen it! Would you reccomend it to others? Why or why not?

My husband and I saw the film last night. I was so happy to see my 2 year old daughter when I got home. Then--through the night I kept waking up and thinking about the film--thinking wow---could a bird-flu epidemic take my child? Could it be possible one day that my child won't be able to bear children? In light of world affairs today much of the film seems plausible. The film wasn't so far off in the future that it seemed impossible. To think that the world could fall into a despair so deep--because there is no hope for the future of man is chilling--it more than likely would bring out the worst in the strongest of nations. I have read reports that fertility is on the decline. I think that this film is an almost worst-case scenario. Worst case scenario being mutiple atomic bombs rendering our planet a wasteland. If you liked this film I would reccomend 2 Margarety Atwood novels--"The Handmaid's Tale" and "Oryx and Crake" both futuristic novels; one dealing with a world in which infertility is rampant and another that details the demise of mankind by the hand of a mad genius who unleashes a biolocial weapon as told by his friend.

In short--this film is thought-provoking--I'm still trying to wrap my arms around it. It makes me want to research raciscm in the UK and infertility as a whole. It also makes me want to go and make #2. LOL! There are some people that I would not recommend this film to. It was too intense--and most of the people I know are folks who do the best they can every day and are stressed and all they want is a good laugh or a sappy love story--or a Hollywood formula. There are select few that I would urge to see the film--they are a little more cynical of the status quo and aren't quite so wrapped up in their own drama. Excellent film. Just... wow--so intense.

I just watched it tonight and i thought it was very interesting. It reminded me of some of the the events of WW2 , with the movement of immigrants to ghettos similar to the treatment of the Jews and the attack on Bex Hill contrasting with the urban warfare. I also enjoyed the way that the mother was a common and "undesirable" person in the eyes of the government yet ironically she was the person who was pregnant.

very good 9/10!

I saw it last night, and I enjoyed it more than I expected to.

So many people seem confused by it, but the information is in there -- you just have to really pay attention to the details. It also helps if you have some understanding of world affairs, and not just from an American media perspective.

I loved the movie, but I went home kinda wearing it on my back...it really stuck with me (in a dreary way).

I was never quite sure just what The Human Project was though.

I would recommend it to others, definitely.

Coool. I saw it today with my boyfriend, too. I thought it was good, but it didn't get to be great until the combat scene. Very realistic. I was glued.
Would I see it again? Yes, I would.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but only to certain people. Not everyone can handle something like that.

I really liked it and would recommend it. I love dystopia and I thought it was an interesting vision of the future. However, it's very dark and...sobering.
