I think your best bet is to seek out jobs such as running errands for neighbors, babysitting, raking yards, and so forth. You would be surprised what people would pay to have these services.

As stated before you would be better off working for neighbours and friends. I don't think that it is legal to hire a 14 year old in NY.

Please be very careful it is a horrible world sometimes. Do not go to any interviews or meetings without telling your parents and perhaps getting a lift from them. If it is a legitamate job the potential employer will be expecting your parents to be involved and impressed with your maturity.

Try and think of something that lots of people want and few do - ironing or car washing, maybe dog walking - they are all open to you and people are often too busy to do them themselves.

Good for you wanting to earn a few $'s and good luck.
