Last night Venus and Mercury were both close to the thin crescent moon and not far from comet McNaught at sunset here. The sky charts I use showed Venus, Mercury and the Moon close together and that is what I saw. The NASA chart would have been as you report it.

It was, as has been pointed out, an astronomical map not an astrological one.

It showed Venus and Mercury closest to the SUN. Learn to read better.

Edit: And it's not "Astrological". That has to do with the "signs" (Pisces, Cancer, Aquarius, etc.)...you want "Astronomical".

Diagrams like that aren't to scale. And it's astronomical, not astrological.
