Bettas do come in white, so the biggest determining factor with a betta is whether it has those betta fins. Any white fish is going to be a little "see-through." Here's some pictures of white bettas. Yours, of course, may not have such big fins, but you get the idea. Compare the body shape and coloring. Oh! The last link is a close-up of a white betta. The white, see-through color is called, "Cellophane." Does this look like your fish?

First off female betta's DO NOT fight and are very docile and males will only fight other male bettas and DO NOT eat the fish, only kill it. And female bettas are maroon and when they see a male they turn pale and get stripes-but not see thru. Male bettas are not as brightly colored in the wild as they are in stores-most are dye injected.

First thing is, yes, don't belive the guy. They are see through-able.

Don't put any 2 in the same tank. Bettas are aka fighter fish. TRUST me, mine ate live fish!
