I was much happier without Dirty Harry and Nancy the tongue in control. What say you?

From the time I was old enough to see the pictures of starvation in India and Africa on the television, I have been grateful to have been born in America.

That isn't going to change with the political party in power.

America is so badly mocked and jeered at by other countries these days. I just lived in Italy for the past 8 months and hardly anyone over there had anything nice to say about Americans. I actually was not allowed to buy something at a grocery store because when asked where I was from (i guess my accent wasn't that good) the owner of the small store might as well have spat in my face.

I feel quite embarrased to be American actually. We are all living like fat ***holes, consuming and wasting, consuming some more, voting idiots into power, consuming some more. We think we are the best country in the world but the whole world laughs at us (if not hates us). If you don't believe me, start reading up on American foreign policy, on American long-term environmental policy (I'll give you a tip, there is none so you won't find any). This is not a good time to be American. We have the delusion that we rule the world, and that's because that's what the neo-conservative boys club is trying to do but they are so far gone and transparent and have shot themselves in the foot so many times, that the world is already preparing for when the American Empire topples. If I were you, start learning Mandarin. I hate to quote idiots, but soon China will be the ones saying "You're either with us, or you're against us".

I'm no more happier to be an american (and my mothers ancestors were always HERE unlike most of yours)than I would to be a citizen of any other "government" i think all governments are inhearently EVIL... But hey 'm stuck on this planet for the time.. "adapt and overcome" really makes no diff to me whos in charge really.. just makes it a little harder or easier depending on the system du jour...
