I would try to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser as soon as possible.
If you don't have one, try using some baking soda with a small amount of water until you can get one. I use it as a paste on surfaces I need cleaned, but not scratched.
Also, use it on my stovetop to get off burned on stuff off.

Remove the counter, replace with indestructable one, that even a woman can't damage. If it's wood, consider burning more rings to match with more hot bfrying pans, burn some old family photos, around the edges, then arrange in random, and seal in with clear two part epoxy counter surface.

If it is a commercial or industrial quality counter they have very thick coatings and you could sand it out. If it isn't too bad you might be able to sand it even if it is a cheapo. Go slow. You can buy a cheap palm sander online for 10 or 15 if you look around.

What type of counter is it? I know that you can mix a paste of comet powder and water and slather it on the mark and leave it over night. That might lift it. But I would google the type of counter you have like this " remove burn mark on ______ countertop" and see what you get.

What is the counter made of? You might have destroyed the counter if it's a plastic-type material. If you can paint the counter (like if it's wood), then you may want to paint over it... If it's stone, I'm surprised you burnt it!

When you say get it out, are you referring to the burn, or the wife?
