the problem with your power steering is the broken pump shaft inside the pump itself, the pulley stays on and the belt turns ,but no pressure.very common with these vehicles
only fix is to replace pump. you can go new ,rebuilt or one from junk yard , the pump must be replaced
as far as price ,it depends on wich pump you choose .you shouldn't be charged more than two hours labor.

Could be many things but if the belt on the Power steering pump snapped that would be the cheapest and easiest fix. If the pump is bad which usually happens when the pump is run low on fluid then it would need to be replaced. Probably the worst scenerio is that you have a leaking P/S hose which in turn caused the fluid to run low and burned out the pump. In that case the hose and pump would need to be replaced. Let the mechanics check it out for you.

Sounds like the pump went out.... a pump should only be 50-75 but with labor your looking at 150-200..... not bad I think.

Could be belt problem, fluid level problem, pump problem. Shouldn't take them long to find the problem. Pump will probably be the most expensive route, about $300.00
