Actually...in schools, students are taught 'white' history every day of the year...except in february...so isn't that fair???...I THINK NOT....I think we should talk about both races throughout the whole school year....

perhaps helping generate solutions or ideas to plethora of issues faced in the African American community. focusing on those leaders who were able to persevere, it may be interesting to discuss what motivated and inspired them and how we can emulate them today.

I don't think there should be a race-based history month unless you want to do that for all races. Personally, until we get over having things just for one race or another, we will never succeed in stopping racism. I happen to be Native American and Italian and am a firm believer in equality for all people on the globe with no perks or penalizations for being of any one race, and yes I include casinos in that thought and tax cuts for living on tribal land. It's time we all forget the past, the wrongs will never be righted, and move on to a better future for all human beings.

One issue that never seems to be addressed is how they were FORCED to adopt a new religon when the slaves were brought to the states and what steps can be taken so that their descendants can reclaim their religious birthright.
