You can define any side of the triangle as being the triangle's "base". The only catch is that this can change other values that might be based on the base. For example, the height would then be the line that runs from the top point and perpendicular to the side you defined as the "base".

You can pick any side of the triangle to be the base. But the height will be different depending on which side you pick to be the base. The height is the perpendicular distance from the vertex opposite the base, to the base.

with what info if you have the two sides use pithagorus u no a^2 +b^2=c^2 where a and b are the two shorter sides and c is the longer side
