How do you divide those without a Calculator?

I alway's used to use a Calculator and never my head, so now I have to take a major test that say's I can't use one. So I gotta brush up on the basics. Please help. I don't want the answer, I just need to know "How".

There are several different ways to do this. For one thing you can use log tables. Another way is simply trial and error. 348.8 goes into 12322.8 approximately 40 times (300 times 40 is 12,000). Multiply 348.8 by every number between 31 and 40 and you will have your answer. An easier way (but longer) is this: Put as many zeros as you can, in each number. 12322.8 becomes 12000 and 348.8 becomes 300. Divide 12000 by 300. Then, divide 12000 by 40. Then divide 12000 by 8.
