pleases don't get angry, this is a serious question.
My brother is studying at Harvard university and has told me about a study in homosexuals having a mental problem in there brain in which causes them to do the sick disturbing things they do; what do you think of this?

He told me basically that they have a chemical imbalance such as those with bipolar disorder but it affects the oran part of the brain, in which causes disturbing thoughts and pleasures.
If you don't believe about this study you can check it up online; I'm sure you'll find it.
and if you don't think its correct I'd consider asking yourself why the smartest people in the world would think this; and also if you're so smart, why you cannot attend a highly reputable school as Harvard Univesity

Or just type TROLL! and leave it at that.
And to you Osopimpin, I think YOU are mentally challenged to post such a question. Of course, we think it's b*llsh*t and we think you are an idiot. Ask your brother for the study reference and post that. Then ask me what I think about the study once I've had a chance to verify that:
a) the study exists
b) the study did not have a flawed protocol
c) the study was funded by an impartial source
d) the study was peer reviewed
e) the study was published in a respected journal
I searched for something pertinent online, but could find nothing. The intelligence of the people who do a study can be irrelevant; if they have a personal agenda, the study is likely to be flawed.

Ok, who the hell says that being homosexual is sick and disturbing? The school, your brother or you? Either way it's a person's view that is terribly sick and disturbing! Just because a person decides to be a homosexual doesn't make them do anything but enjoy being themselves. And hell no, I don't believe that being homosexual is a sign in any way of having a mental problem! By the way, my son has some real mental problems and I DO NOT appreciate someone trying to say that just because you are a homosexual that you have a mental problem! I firmly believe that everyone chooses their sexual orientation (and by the way, I am a proud and intelligent bisexual woman), but my son did not choose to have his mental challenges. So to wrap things up, NO I do not believe that being homosexual is the result of a mental problem; definitly not the result of a chemical imbalance. Your brother and Harvard both need to get their heads out of their asses and get a life!

Are you psychologically challenged?
Listen dude, I am aware of the 'study' you're referring to, or at least one that would fit your description. Now, I read it in a christian gender relations 'psychology' book - so I highly doubt that the information you're referring to came from Harvard. Either way, you've done a great job of twisting the information to fit your small minded perspective. The 'study' was attempting to prove a theory that homosexuals were the result of an imbalance in testosterone/estrogen during development in the womb (homosexual men have 'too much' estrogen, and lesbian women have 'too much' testosterone) causing certain parts of the brain to develop as if they were that of the opposite gender - so, for example, too much testosterone in the womb could affect the female baby's brain in such a way that it affects her behavior (causes her to act more masculine) and her 'mating' (causes her to be attracted to women).
We all have a combination of both estrogen and testosterone, so if this study WERE to be proven as scientific fact (as far as I know, it is only a 'study' and is not a scientifically proven 'explanation' for homosexuality) this hormonal 'imbalance' would not in any way imply a 'mental problem' - just a variation on what you obviously consider to be 'normal'.

The Science Of Sexual Orientation.. hmm.. how about that
The causes of homosexuality and bisexuality are controversial (people do not agree on them). Many religions see homosexual or bisexual behaviour as sin. Some religions also see homosexuality and bisexuality as a choice that a person makes. They believe gay people choose to sin when they have sex with people of the same sex.
However, modern scientists believe that homosexuality is not a choice. The causes of homosexuality are not all understood, but genetics and the effects of prenatal hormones (when a baby is growing in its mother) are sometimes thought to be causes. Scientists also claim to show that homosexuality happens not only in humans. Many other types of animals (like penguins, chimpanzees, and dolphins) often show homosexuality. Many scientists and doctors also believe that sexual orientation cannot change. Doctors used to treat gay people like they had mental illnesses. However, homosexuality is no longer called a disease by doctors in many countries.
here what i found on a study was made while back i copied an exerpt
=======
Similarly, Daryl Bem ( 2 ), a professor of psychology at Cornell University, asserted his theory that hormonal levels (and hence, sexual behaviors) are the causes of homosexuality. He stated that an aggressive child (with a higher amount of testosterone) would be more interested in typical "boy games," such as sports, while a passive child (with lower amounts of testosterone) might be more interested in quieter activities. Bem continues by showing a correlation between participation in sex-typical or atypical activities and perception of the opposite as "exotic." Finally, he hypothesizes that opposites attract -- or, the attraction of the foreign "produces heightened physiological arousal that subsequently gets eroticized to that...class of (others): Exotic becomes erotic." While Bem’s hypothesis presents a biological explanation for the basis of homosexuality, his conclusions have yet to be tested.

Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci participated in homosexual acts? He was a genius and very ahead of his time.
Homosexuality is a preference. Are people who like vanilla smarter than people who like chocolate? No. It's just a preference and there is nothing "sick" about it. Some straight people have mental disorders too. Some homosexual people are incredibly intelligent people. It depends on the person, not the sexual preference.
I'm not going to write a long and in-depth response to you because I don't believe this is a serious question. And if it is... I think you need to do some inner thinking or at least post your question in a less rude manner. (Your ending statement was very inconsiderate and redundant).

First of all, no, this is not true. There have been several studies that have revealed that this is a myth. It used to be a theory. Now it is just ridiculous.
Second of all, I am curious about these "sick things" that we do. Did I miss something in LesEd? Most homosexual persons don't do anything different in bed then the average straight person. And anything kinky that they may do are also done by straight people.

Of course not.
One thing I will never understand is why human beings feel the need to subject themselves to labeling and division.
Homosexual behavior occurs in every single other species.
Are human beings really so different or spectacular from the other species living on the planet?
The answer to that question would be NO!

*sigh* This is beyond stupidity to the point where i can't even answer this. Your brother is just about as stupid as anyone else in Harvard. If your thinking anal sex is disturbing then maybe you should talk to some of the straight people who practice anal sex with their partners and tell them THEY'RE mentally challenged too. This isn't a "serious question". Just go put a football helmet on and go to sleep.

NO. Homosexuality is NOT considered a mental illness or an abnormality. Back in the 1970's the Abnormal Psychology books had removed homosexuality from its contents because it was proven to not be an abnormality.
Gays are born gay, and it IS by nature, not by choice for most gay people! Gay people DO fall deeply in love - it is NOT all about sex, either. Gay people CANNOT "change" even if they wanted to, nor can christ, believe it or not. I personally think that if ANYONE is suffering from mental illness, it is the christians. They don't have a good excuse at all for acting the way they do.
