O.K.... My friend posted this question for me. I did get it out ... I had left a wooden handled spatual in there all night and it wouldn't come out. Today I put the wooden spatual in the drain and began to run cool water into the sink. As the disposal started to get water in it the centipede ran up the handle and into the sink, where I scooped it up in a jar and returned it to nature.... happily back in the trees. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I guess you could put a paper towel there and hope the centipede crawls on up it and out to the sink where you can catch it.

Paper plate-stiff napkin will offer safe way out. Pay attention to path chosen. Critter will change paths quickly. Prepare to evolve paths as direction changes. If critter choses you to follow then present "paper" as new venue.Do'nt freek just cause it runs a bit on you. Count it as a blessing then return it to the plate and run it to the woodpile, bushes or leafpile. These critters are tough enough to survive "casting out".

Do you have a tongue depressor or a long stick like a popsicle stick that it can climb? If so, use that. Part the rubber flaps and shine a flashlight down so you can see the critter, then position the stick gently and hope it climbs it. Other than that, I don't know!

I don't know, but if I were I would let it come out on its own. Their bites are very dangerous to humans.
