You can use a credit card and pay for songs or you can go to http://www.limewire.com or http://www.bearshare.com and download songs for free. As for getting them on your computer, I use yahoo jukebox. Just drag your songs into the playlist, click the down arrow next to actions and select transfer to portable and select your device from the list. Your computer will detect your particular make and model and add it to the list as soon as you plug it in.

if you are downloading from I-tunes you must make sure you are downloading in mp3 form. I-tunes is for I-pods, but they now can download to mp3, that I haven't figured out yet.

ok for ipod
you can download LIMEWIRE and when its ready click search and then type the song and then download it when it is done downloading go to my computer and then click on local hard disk and then go to documents and setting and go to your folder and then go to a folder called shared after you did that copy that music and then go to i-tunes and then go to file and then to import then go to my documents on the import window and go to my music then to a folder called i-tunes then to a folder called i-tunes music then make a new folder and open it and then put paste and the song that you copied should be there and then put open and then sync it and there it is =]
