1) Syrian President: Elmo (aka Bashar)
2) Lebanese president is called Earnie (aka Gen Lahoud).
Both were prominent figures in "Sesame Street" & "Muppet Show" before they crawled their way up like lowly lizards to presidency.
Earnie (aka Lahoud) and Elmo's (aka Bashar) dad (Count von Count) on one side, used to get in constant fights with cookie monster (aka Gen Aoun), but lately and for some strange reason, they fell deeply in love.
Cookie Monster also has his eyes on the presidency.
Last heard news are Earnie(Lahoud) looking for someone to make movie about his life. "I was thinking the other day, and I know it probably sounds, you know, just crazy, but I thought, you know, as irrational and dysfunctional as I am, I'll bet that, if the right filmmaker got involved, maybe somebody could make a movie dramatizing various aspects of my life", he said.
