flippin eck it has to take a bit of effort. You can't just get away with being honest. It has to be something that depicts your feelings.

Well, seeings as im single my true love would have to be my kitten. So I would make her a dinner of fresh meat, with a warm glass of milk and marshmallows and cream (she loves mallows) for dessert.
Oh god, what has my life turned into !!!! lol

Well what can you do? No point telling you to write him a song, if you're totally none musical??
I don't go with the poetry smoetry bit, 99.99999% of people write crap poetry and it just becomes embarrassing, especially if you shoehorn in the word "glove" because it rhymes with "love." If you can't compare to Keats or Whitman, don't even go there. Besides an amazingly similar percentage of 99.999999% of blokes just don't get poetry anyhow, and so that would just be like getting him some needles and balls of wool as a sign of your love!
So what can you do? If you are good at something and he knows that, and you use that talent to convey your feeling, it will be special, but if you don't display any creative qualities to him usually, anything you try and muster will not really ring true.
