I've been playing for 4 years now and I'm looking to buy a new acoustic. My favorite brand is Epiphone and I want to know what everybody thinks of the Epiphone AJ200s (well, I mean, if you've played it or own it) I've only played it once at Guitar Center, but I loved it. Just want to know if its a good guitar for chords, tabs, power chords, and writing songs.

I have been playing for 35 years now. I have always found Epiphone guitars to be of very high quality at a modest price. They are modeled after Gibson designs most of the time, but at a more modest price. I have an Epiphone Les Paul model that I keep tuned to C#, that I wouldn't trade for the world.

If you are comfortable playing the AJ200s, go for it. It's a decent Axe. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If it feels good and sounds good to YOU, you'll play it more.

I hope this helps. Good luck and Keep on a Jammin'.

I agree with captain_H.. Go with what you can afford. I've been playing 40 years.. I play all string instruments.. I currently own Martin acoustics, Gibson and Fender for jazz/funk/country.. That's not to say they are the best.. It's what I prefer. Mike Stern plays a Yahama designed for him that sounds great.. Probably modeled after his Teles'.. Have fun with it. Remember one thing.. and I tell my wife this often. You just can't own one guitar. Good luck!

Forget Epiphone....that's beginner stuff. You can't go wrong with the ultimate package deal offered by the one and only.....Esteban!
