but now my screen-saver/wallpaper whatever is gone.how do I get it back?

using smitfraud-remover does do that, if you downloaded it from the guy who made it (noad d fear) then you would have read the warning with it. some rogue spyware programs mess with the screen saver and background, so to cover all the bases when cleaning programs, it resets those settings.
to fix it, right click on your desktop and go to properties. you can change the screensaver and wallpaper there.
