I think rock does. You actually have to know how to play an instrument. Rap is just fake. They just talk fast. Wow. It takes a while to be a good guitarist, bassist, drummer, etc. I can't stand rap(no offence rap lovers) What do you guys think. And don't say "Rock people just scream in their songs!" because that's metal.

Rock all the way. ever try to play crazy guitar and sing without looking at your guitar? rappers use pre-made beats and add words

If you're talking about the vocal aspect, I think success requires a certain level of talent in both forms. To some, Rock vocals may be screaming or Rap may be talking in rhythm, but it really takes skill.

Where Rock blows away Rap in terms of skill is in instrumentation.

I'll take this step by step:
The rock singer plays his instruments(applause applause..) the rapper produces his music.. it all comes down to the same.. so let's look for another step..
Saying the "rappers just talk fast" is like saying "rock people just scream", tht just ain't right coz there are rappers that a slow, and it ain't always talking, there's a lot to do with the way the voice comes out, the way u express urself.
Personally, I'm an RnB fan, so I'm lookin at the two from a none-biased level, and I can tell u wat is to hate with rock vocals..not the fact that they "shout", but the fact that I can get someone off the street, anyone who can hold a note and make 'em sing to a rock beat.. I mean, nothing special, as I said, I'm an rnb fan, but even if u don't like rnb, u'd prob listen to R. Kelly's voice and say..yea there's something there... that something's absent in rock, apart from groups like maroon 5...they look for that something
lastly.. rap goes ahead of rock when they stop tryna fly high and keep it down to earth. When you listen to a song like run away love(ludacris ft. Mary J Blige)...u get to understand wat I mean by being down to earth..the lil difference puts rap way ahead!!

Both
Most Rappers write their own lyrics
And produce their own music
Same with Rock musicians
