It did not impact the world immediately. The first telephones were confined to the urban North East USA in the 1870s. Trans-oceanic communication was still done by telegraph. It took the telephone twenty five years or so to have a global impact, and to make a real presence in people's homes. It took quite some time to wire the world for telephones. They had to physically string all that copper wire to create a network. That took 50 years.

I would say that communications were speeded up immensely. Business could certainly be expedited. Heads of countries could communicate much more quickly, for good or bad. I would say the impact was huge.

well i think it did not have a impact immediatly but it did change how people lived and communicated
