whenever I restart my computer, it asks for a password...before it was the windows xp screen where i clicked my name and typed it in but then i didnt want to have to do that so I went into control panel and deleted my password...but guess what..it still asks for it...i've tried everything, changed the password, backspaced it, etc so now i have to just enter a blank password and press ok (now it is like a box that pops up not the xp screen)...how do I fix this it's so annoying!

Yeah this happened to me too, I think it happens when a file is changed or something odd like that. Easiest way to fix it is go

Control Panel --> User Accounts --> Change the way users log on and off --> Use the welcome screen.

You want the welcome screen on.

If you want it to be that pretty XP screen where you click your username and it (since you have no password) logs you in...

Go to Control Panel
-->open User Accounts
-->choose "Change the way Users Log on and off"
-->make sure "Use the Welcome Screen" is checked

EDIT: apparently I'm a slow typist, as someone posted the same thing four mins before me.

either way, the answer is the same

↓ Start menu
↓ Click on the picture (login picture)
↓ Click cancel if it asks you about your picture
↓ click remove password
↓ Type in password then OK

Password override will completely remove the password..

Also after about 2 days your pc sometimes updates to realise that no password is present...

If you aren't the computere administrator, you can't prevent this. Only the computer administrator can remove your password.
