I do spring clean. There something about the spring that makes me want to refresh everything.I think it is the rebirth season when everything starts to grow after the winter so it is time to get rid of the old and in with the new.

Of course I spring clean. If you don't move the heavy furniture out ever so often, then you get lots of fur/hair/dust balls. If you have allergies and such, that could make you really sick. I think it makes a house look and smell so much cleaner.
To start, I take out all pictures, decorations, etc. Then you gotta move all the furniture to the center of the room.
AFter that I take a broom to my celings. Then I start on washing down the walls. I personally like to use murphy's oil soap on my walls (even though they are painted). I've used a don aslet (Mispelled) mop on my walls for the past few years since I've become a mommy and time is of the essence. I still think good ole elbow grease works best though. I clean my windows after that.
Then you vaccum out the floor where all the furniture sits, take a big garbage bag with you as its untelling what you'll find behind the couch. Next, vacuum and shampoo your furniture and your carpet. . Then you gotta take your decorations to the kitchen or bath and wipe them down really good!

Yes, I do. To me it's more than just "everyday" cleaning. Spring cleaning includes windows in/out, closets (getting rid of stuff not worn in a year), same with knick-knacks that have just become "dust collectors". Putting away the "winter linens",etc. They say start with the rooms in the back of the house and "clean forward". This way EVERYTHING gets cleaned. We tend to keep the front rooms where most people would come into cleaner than the rest.

I don't personally do the old fashioned spring cleaning, but every month I do a sort of spring cleaning where I just de-clutter my spaces, and deep clean the kitchen and bathrooms. I don't know of anyone who really spring cleans anymore

We do not spring clean like women did years ago because we keep our houses clean all the year round.

I don't do it. I do enough cleaning the rest of the year - don't want to make a career out of it. I sort of spring clean the garden to get rid of old leaves etc but that's when I stop.

Spring cleaning is alive and well, though it's not always spring when I do it. It's amazing what I find when I start moving stuff and pulling stuff out of cabinets.
