Don't try to convince me into sticking with Firefox. I've used it for years, it's good, but is there any browser that can run websites faster, has more features, doesn't crash much, etc?

I need a browser that can actually suit my computer's needs:

MY TECH SPECS:

128MB Ram
32MB Graphics Card (I don't think you need to know this, but I wanted to tell you how low it is)
Goes up to 24bit (Sometimes things prefer 32.. not fair at all)
1GHZ Processor

40GB Hard drive
Windows XP Pro

DON'T TELL ME TO GET OPERA EITHER.. Unless there is for a fact nothing better than opera, then psh.. But you have to know, not just guess and give out your opinion and beliefs.. I mean, something's better than Firefox at every way possible.. there has to be a browser..

The ************ who said Google it, let me tell you something.

Googling takes days, even weeks to look for what you're looking for. Sometimes people just don't want to Google it. Since when have someone asked you, "What web browser should I use?" and you told them to Google it? I bet you did that all the time, or you're just doing this for fun.

But listen here: Googling is a pain in the ***. Yahoo Answers is like a search engine, except you're asking the members. You need help, you ask.

I don't need this "GOOGLE" bullshit, it's not elite, it's not cool, it's retarded, gay, and Google deserves to have a warning on it saying, "It takes practice just to know the exact keywords to type in when you're looking for something".

People have practice so Google may be good for you, but i'm not mad at you, just don't do it again, sorry if it sounds like i'm mad at you.

Whoever said use LYNX, it's a text browser. I don't need a text browser, sorry but thanks for answering.

Geez, Yahoo should have a comments feature for answers, not just wait for someone to choose the best answer for you to comment only on the best answer, pointless.

For whoever who said use Microsoft Internet Explorer:

It's highly unsafe, IE7 lags my computer, IE6 is completely unsafe and i'll have to download many security software just to actually use it. It's hard to open a website because it's slow. It's basic but not useful for me. It doesn't have much features and everytime you look for a website you hear a clicking noise like -CLICK!-[loading] -CLICK!!- and such.

Thanks for answering though, but if you use Internet Explorer, I suggest you to use another browser like Firefox, unless you get tired of it like I am right now.

-----------

For whoever said upgrade your RAM:

I need to buy RAM and such, but i'm okay with my RAM. It also will just take a while to buy one, etc. Just so I can be able to use an internet browser. It's not really that worth it, it'll just make you give up

It's sort of difficult to meet the badly written demanding tone of your question when you're not actually telling anyone what you want. Apparently Firefox and Opera just aren't 'good' enough, you want something 'better', though you don't actually bother to tell us what exactly would mean good and better as far as you're concerned. Everyone has different needs from a browser, your assumption that we can read you mind, know exactly what you want, and supply you with it is totally invalid rendering your question pointless.

Anyway, the only decent alternatives to IE *are* Opera and Firefox, 99% of the others are just Internet Explorer with a different name and a new skin slapped on the front so if you don't want FF or Opera, which you seem to have taken against for no reason, then you're screwed basically.

Oh, though if you do want pages to load faster then I can give this much advice for a FACT: upgrade that poor bl00dy PC. You're running XP with 128MB of RAM?! Seriously? It's a wonder the thing runs at all to be quite honest, 128MB is the utter bare minimum for running XP and is really not advised, get at least 512MB in your machine before you start blaming the struggling software for bad performance.

According to your criteria..

"...can run websites faster, has more features, doesn't crash much, etc?..."

There are settings you can change to optimize your internet connection and make loading a bit faster, but for the most part it's dependant on things like connection speed, memory speed, how much free memory you have. You did not say what your net connection is. If it's dial up, it is going to be slow.

What sort of features do you want? I'm all for Opera. I highly reccomend it. It is a great browser, and you can get lots of addons and widgets, all free. With the limited performace of your system, however, your going to have to choose features or speed, I doubt you will get one that will meet both of those without a better performing PC. 128MB is the absolute Minimum RAM for Windows XP. If you have a P3 1Ghz, well you might have trouble finding more RAM, except used. If it is newer you shouldn't have much trouble, but PC 133 is getting harder to find.

None of the current browsers are having any major problems with crashing that I am aware of. If you are having crashing issues, then your PC is unstable. Do you do regular virus scans? Spyware/malware scans? defragment? Either way that could be due to memory issues.

You should definately consider more RAM. Go to a reputable computer store with technicians available and look into a RAM upgrade.

I think most of your problems would be resolved if you would just upgrade your RAM. You are trying to run all of the services of Windows XP, various applications, and a browser all on 128MB of RAM. The computer is paging so much that no wonder Firefox crashes. It's not going to matter what browser you go with, you will still have problems until you upgrade your RAM. 512MB should be enough, but 1GB would be better.

The primary supported browsers available are IE, Firefox, Opera, & Netscape. Although I find Netscape to be a huge memory hog. Some 3rd party browsers may use IE as a backend.

i agree about ie7, it is a pain in the ***. I swear that it also sabotaged my firefox somehow, because now it won't work. And I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and running virus scans. I have IE7 on two computers in my house that are both fairly fast, one of which is 64-bit. It still lags!!! Now back to your question, I've also been looking around. Avant browswer is pretty nice. I'll give you a link to a fairly good website that you can look around and try a lot of browsers, I even set it to show you the top downloaded browsers. You can see that Avant browser has had over 15 million downloads, Firefox has around 9 million, and IE7 almost 9 million. Here is the link: http://www.download.com/sort/3150-2356_4-0-1-4.html?qt=&author=&titlename=&desc=&li=49&os=&swlink=&gfiletype=

I hope this helps!!!

BTW, I hate the Verizon Yahoo Browser more than any of them, because it has freezed a ton of times on me. Plus it won't update...

Speaking from a internet progress viewpoint... IE is a nightmare. It's the ONLY browser that you simply truthfully need to write secondary code for (due to the fact that MS is so filled with itself that it may not comply with stated internet specifications that everybody else makes use of). IE8 improves their conformity to typical, however even IE8 continues to be lightyears in the back of the opposite 3 main browsers (FireFox, Safari, and Opera). From a person viewpoint... till IE7, IE sucked. IE7, nonetheless, determined to replicate a few of FireFox's key facets that customers had been so keen on (like tabbed searching, for illustration). And one in all IE's largest faults is that it hasn't been to be had on MacOS on the grounds that IE5. With the exception of Chrome, the whole lot else is multiplatform (and Chrome for Mac is coming). As a person who generally makes use of each Windows and Mac (at house and paintings, respectively) I choose my setups on each running approaches to be a an identical as viable. It simply makes lifestyles less difficult. I can not run IE at paintings on my Mac... however I'm flawlessly in a position of strolling FireFox or Safari at house on my Windows PC. That's to not say that IE8 isn't any well. It's a big benefit over 7, and FireFox, relatively frankly is opening to get somewhat bloated within the three.one million liberate. I nonetheless choose FireFox, even though. I'm a official internet developer, so I generally paintings in more than one browsers (mainly on a day-to-day foundation), however I do have a tendency to make use of FireFox for just about all of constant searching. As for Microsoft being a extra "steady" corporation... you are evaluating apples and oranges. Microsoft is a a big for-benefit organization that presents subsequent to not anything totally free, and presently has the biggest percent of the pc marketplace in it is pocket. On the opposite hand, Mozilla's declare to popularity is FireFox and ThunderBird, either one of that are open-supply (that is why it has all of the excellent components that IE does not) and is to be had for FREE.
