Actually....I know you're all going to hate me for this one, and I get it. I know, rabbits are cute pets, I used to have a pet bunny myself as a kid. But...
Rabbits are also smaller, and easier to manage in a *humane* way in a smaller space than cows and pigs are. I'd much rather see rabbits bred for food, and kept in a clean, humane environment for their short lives, than I would see cows and pigs overcrowded to the point of being maimed and suffering....
And yes, there is a long-standing cultural tradition among at least the Irish and Welsh of hunting rabbit to eat. So the food choice isn't entirely unheard of. And if the rabbits are clean, healthy, and meant for that purpose....well, why should we let Koreans starve if there is an alternative that is healthier than eating dogs, cats and rats?
Ok, I'll stop now....I know, it's miserable and disgusting to think about, but really it could be (and in Korea has been) much worse.

ok i admit i'd rather pet a rabbit than eat one but i know of other things i'd rather not see.. some people eat dog specifically chow which is a cuisine of the vietnamese, in india cows are sacred and we are all eating them. when it comes down to it.. if a eating a rabbit will save the lives of those that otherwise would likely die then i am ok with the trade off. i really hate the idea of raising animals to die but i think if i had to sit in a room with an animal(any kind) and a starving child who is dying right in front of me, you know that wouldnt be a hard choice. who among us would actually let the child die?

When my rabbit fell and broke its spine we had to put it to sleep, my moms friend said we should have just put him in his freezer... How horrible is that to say after someone lost their pet... but Yes people do eat rabbits and they reproduce well.. like rabbits so i guess they are a great food source
