If a woman hits a man, does he have the right to hit her back?

I know you're always taught never to hit a woman, but I feel once she steps over that line, then he has the right to hit her back. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't think anyone should hit, but just speaking hypothetically.

We don't hit in my family. As I said, it was a HYPOTHETICAL question.

Hell yeah he should ,I dont care if he's a man or not she should use just as much restraint in a situation as she would expect him to . It's her own stupid fault if he's stronger she should have thought about that before she put her hands on him

It depends on the situation, but I think it is fair. If a woman is bold enough to throw a punch, she should be bold enough to take it. But I think the man should take the higher road by walking away and leaving because men are physically stronger then women. But violence shouldn't be a situation. I grew up in a household full of brothers, so I know. It would be a double standard if it is okay for a women to hit a men, and not vice versa.

I am a firm believer in two wrongs don't make a right, but if a woman hauls off and hits a man, then yes he should be able to do the same providing he acknowleges she is smaller than he and pulls his punch a bit. That might stop her from punching again.

No, a man should never ever hit a woman. It is an unmatched fight. He should take the hit like a man and walk away and use words to fight a battle with a female. If she keeps trying to hit him, he is more than capable to hold her arms away from him until she calms down. Any kind of hitting or pushing down is considered abuse. He can call the police on her if he chooses.

If she wants to fight like a man, then expect to be hit like a man. That being said, if she scratches and slaps, I don't think I need to visualize a man scratching and slapping a woman.

Bottom line: Say nothing and walk away. THAT alone will destroy a woman more than being hit.

im tired of the double standards! i personally would never hit a woman just because its been engrained into my head that i should never do that but if i hear of a man who hit a woman after she beat him up (after trying to peacefully end the argument), i won't be like OMG HOW COULD HE. know what i mean?

Yes, but he shouldn't hit back any harder then is necessary to stop the stupid woman. Example--she slaps him. That isn't an excuse to break her jaw.
