"No man is an island"-- everything we do or say affects the world in some way. Important things start in small ways.... as a thought, as a gesture, as an action. Every person, when they are optimistic, when they are kind, when they do no harm-- has done something important for the whole world. So YES, there IS hope for a man to do something important for the whole world.

This is the question Buckminster Fuller decided to answer, which inspired him to live when he was on the verge of suicide.
How much impact could one person make on the world?
In Fuller's case, he answered his own challenge by creating the geodesic dome, which revolutionized architecture and science, and helped redirect the trend of politics toward individual action with his slogan "Think Globally, Act Locally."
So, yes, not only is there hope, but it is universal truth that what each person does IS important for the whole world. What we do with our lives is the one thing we can contribute; it is our part of the world that we directly influence. And in doing so, we touch the rest of the world full of people just like us, doing the same thing.
What each person does is 100% important, as you are the only person at the unique center of the relationships and lives that intersect with yours. Whether or not your or my contributions make the news or history does not make us any more or less important to the people and circumstances in our lives. Whatever we overcome, improve, and achieve as individuals, collectively we influence the whole world toward positive progress.

at some point an individual will discover how to transmit "enlightened consciousness" to all living on the planet, simultaneously. this will remove the need to oust the psychopaths who run the planet, since they and everyone else will have been favorably transformed, and the new golden age will be upon us. ;-)

Absolutely,
Each of us has the opportunity to do something really significant each day we're alive.
*Random acts of kindness, just because.
*Allowing others to forgive us, and to let them move on with their lives.
*Studying, working, exercising just a little bit harder each day so that we just might have the opportunity to do even more than the average person can each and everyday of our lives.
*It ain't always easy, and it ain't always pretty (graceful), but it can be done.
*It's all up to you.
