Go back to the Dr for answers, go with a list of questions so you don't forget to ask anything.

i.e. is the placenta working fully ?, should you rest more? maybe ask for another scan in a few weeks to monitor progress.

This must be a worrying time for you, take care.

No! we are all different and develop differently however you should just keep an eye and if he doesnt start to develop within 3-4 months it is worth asking for some tests to be run!

It doesnt automatically mean there is something wrong with him, he may just be genetically small.
They will probably offer you extra scans to keep checking on his weight.
They told me at my 20 weeks scan my second DD was small for her dates but when i was re-scanned 4 weeks later they then said she was 2 weeks bigber than her dates.
So try not to worry until you know you have something to worry about :)

Your doctor just gave you that information and sent you on your way without further explanation?!? Get into the doctors office and refuse to leave until you have an explanation.
