Go to another garage!! You're feeling something and the speedohead would have absolutely NOTHING to do with that. You could be experiencing your anti-lock brake system working. If anything, take your car into a large parking lot, wear your seatbelt, hit the gas, get it up to about 30mph and press HARD on the brakes, Then ride it through....Is that your "juddering" If so its your anti-lock working like its supposed too. Anything else, go to a garage...just a different one from where you already went.

The only problem you usually get with the speedo head is a juddering of the needle on the speedometer.(I'm not going to explain all that)As far as I know it has nothing to do with your brakes! Try another garage and see if they say the same. The garage you have tried might be trying to pull a fast one, especially if they know you know nothing about cars!

The speedo head is the speedo you look at it has nothing to do with brakes, if you have juddering you have a distorted brake disc , replace them if even one of them is out of shape it causes uneven braking in an emergency . they are not terribly expencive , Dont go to the garage who told you it was a speedo head they havn,t a clue

speedometer head is the brain of your speed indicator.....if you have anti lock brakes this unit reports your speed to the anti lock computer[separate computer from your on board] it is possible that the data produced by the speedometer is wrong telling the brake system your locking up................but this is doubt full......have a certified mechanic check your a,b,s,system. it is most likely a faulty wheel sensor!
