My best friend met this guy over a year ago, and they have been in a relationship for just a little less than that. I've never liked him for many reasons. He is both a little bit mentally abusive and verbally abusive, but it seems like it's getting worse. He is also very controlling. I have tried many times to get her to see things how I see them, but have gotten no where. I just don't know what to do any more, I don't want to make her choose between us because we've been best friends for around 10 years, but it's getting to the point where I just can't stand to see how his actions affect her. His lastest display of control freakness was when he made her delete all her guy friends off her messenger lists, and some of the guys she has known forever, there was nothing between any of them. When she doesn't do something he wants her to do, or when she does something he doesn't like, he uses his love as a pawn in the game he plays. I just don't know what to do anymore. Any advice?

I am afraid that she will end up marrying this guy and ending up divorced like her mother and my sister who were both married to men like him.

It's a long distance relationship, so I would not be able to talk to him, I don't have a screen name for him or a phone number.

In all honesty, you cant do anything about it.

You can keep on trying though... and let her know where you stand.

Hmm, this is a good question. I'm not sure what to do but I know that whenever I have a question i go to this website and submit it for free. Here it is: msmscasanova.bravehost.com-its brand new, so there are still some kinks, but just click on the page that says: submission it's really good. I get not only the answer to the question, but I also get like personal advice about what to do with further situations. It's really really helpful it like allows me like a page of personal feedbacl and i get to choose whether or not I want to publish the answer on the website or like to keep it private. try it!

well if you have already tried talking to her (as in like having a girl night and sitting her down and almost getting mad and telling her how it is, and use example) then i would confront the guy. let him know that you dont appreciate how he is treating your best friend, and that if he isnt more caring and understanding then you will have to do something about it...

i dont know, usually my friends get mad at me when i say their guy is insane, but then they open their eyes a little and see it the next time he acts retarded...

good luck =)

Probably the best thing to do is mind your own business. She will end up choosing this man over you. We all have to learn the hard way. You be there to support her when she needs you.
