you are white, your boy/girl friend is black. Your family says its cool, but behind your back ,what do they really say. Your partner doesnt hit you, cheat on you, do drugs, and works hard to take care of you, so they are a decent person, but does it matter?

Well, from personal experience (my sister married a black man) He is decent, hard working and a generally nice guy. But his family on the other hand... well, lets not go there. My family doesnt say anything against my brother in law, except sometimes when he just cant say NO to his family. That is his only trait that is slightly annoying. My sister has only ever dated black men, so our family got used to the idea when she was only a teenager. It depends on the actual beliefs of the family in question.

Some people just cant get past the colour issue, others are more concerned with the 'generalisation' that society has cast over the 'black' man. I think that people should just treat others as they would like to be treated, and if he hasnt done anything to hurt you or the family, they should just be nice.

I once owned a business, And That is the key, I owned the business, it did not own me. People are going to spend money, no matter how much they make. saving , for most never happens . It's a priority thing, what is most important to you. Being with your family or trying to buy their love with senseless items that fill your home with clutter . Rather then spend all those extra hours working , It would be wiser to get your house hold spending in line with a 40 hour week. Most people do not see that our time is limited, that we can't take it with us and it consumes our lives in detriment to our relationship with our family. And by the time they come to the reality , well, life is over, And what you thought you were working toward, is gone.

AS YOU SEE AM WHITE AND MY HUSBAND IS HISPANIC. HE IS A WONDER FULL MAN AND HAS WORK VERY HARD TO PROVIDE FOR ME AND OUR 2 CHILDREN. WE ARE NOW GRANDPARENTS OF 2 BEAUTIFULL BOYS .

BUT MY FATHER NEVER APPOVE OF HIM. HE OFFER MY SOON TO BE HUSBAND $10,000 FOR HIM TO LEAVE ME ALONE. THIS WAS DAYS BEFORE MY DAD WAS TO WALK ME DOWN. MY HUSBAND WAS UPSET. AND TOLD ME. HE NEVER WALK ME DOWN, I CHOOSE MY BROTHER INSTEAD. MY BROTHER ASK ME WHY I CHANGE MY MIND, I TOLD HIM WHAT DAD DID AND HE WAS PROUD TO BE THE ONE GIVING ME AWAY.

I don't think it should matter. My parents say anyone is ok but my grandma told me she would not visit me if I maried another race. It's sad but eventually if they love you then they will love him too.
