Diatomaceous earth (from a Landscaping or Garden retail outlet will get rid of all insects. It is a powder that is made from diatomes. It is essentialy a powdered glass. The powder gets into the insect and destroys the respiratory tract.
It kills fleas, roaches, and all type of bugs. It works on lawns as well. Investigate it and get some. Read and follow the instructions.
Safety first. Good Luck.

Have it professionally exterminated.......it's well worth the money and like the other poster said clean clean clean and make sure you don't leave any water they can get to. If they can get to water they can live through the poison. Roaches can live 7 days without their heads.....creepy but true.

That's a tough one. Use a light dusting of boric acid under all counters and sinks. Use a good quality pesticide at all locations they will crawl through. Use bug bombs extensively every two weeks for a couple months. Be sure to seal as many possible entry points as you can but realize that you may bring them home in shopping bags or other items.
This is where I buy my pesticides. They offer very good products and excellent advice. Please be sure to follow any directions exactly!!! www.e-bug.com

you have to look for their eggs, they are white round spots about the size of a dime to a quarter. usually under drawers, cabinet walls, somewhere your hands usually wont go. squish the eggs with a knife. then clean the eggs up and toss the remains. also make sure all spills and food gets cleaned up right away off the floors and cabinets. keep carpets swept every other day. its a pain but the cleaner you are the less they will have to eat. spraying alone will not kill the eggs. good luck i know how bad they can get and how gross it is to have them.

They have been around for millions and millions of years and Nuclear fission devices can't harm them but a good exterminator can, he's busy in California now but is taking appointments

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk
