Classic question...sex most important to men and relationships the price to pay?

I'm trying to get back into dating after divorce with mixed results. There are mostly morally corrupt men on the dating scene. Nobody compares to my ex-husband who had a lot of integrity and was always faithful. Call me a cynic...but do men only want sex and find that being in a relationship is the price to pay for getting it regularly and in an socially acceptable way (as opposed to getting it in a socially unacceptable way like prostitutes, hook-up online dating sites or doing it w/ married people)? It seems like women crave relationships and intimacy and sex plays "a part" in relationships but for men they only want sex and grudgingly accept a relationship if they're the type who cares what people think of them. Answers/opinions please.....

Well I'm a man and I feel that there is alot more to a relationship than sex.I would rather find a nice woman and become friends than find a sex partner and just do the deed.Sex alone is not enough to base a relationship on nor is it enough to make a person feel fulfilled emotionally.A woman's friendship or companionship makes a big difference.To answer your question most guys out there just want sex and no commitment but because the way society has changed they tend to not want a relationship because of the way woman have changed as well.Today woman are more aggressive than before and alot of men don't care to become attached to someone with a long list of guys.

I'm a Man & I agree with you.I would guess that 98% of the men want the sex & might axcept the relationship.Then there's men like me the 2% that want the relationship & figure the intimacy as a GREAT BONUS.Now the problem is trying to find the other half.It seems to me that the women are looking for LITTLE BOYS & don't want a MAN.

Not sure how old you are, but if you are over 50
join the red hat society and try to find rewarding female friendships....
I agree with you that men seem to want sex
while women see that there is much more to a relationship than that.
Any chance you could get back with your ex?
If not seriously read the obitiuaries in your community. The men that lost wives might be good choices in a few months

Been married 33 years faithfully. I don't want what your men say they want or act like. But then again, I am faithful too. I believe in values. I am not out to stab the next guy to get to the top. Been around those guys all my life though. They move up and divorce over and over again. Some of them say they can never retire cause they have to pay too many exes.

I hope I am not hammered on this, but being an adult mature woman, I have seen it all. I feel that city men are very horny people they want it all! compared to down-home countrymen. City men have many options it is like a buffet out there for them. Countrymen or cowboys just want a good women they can come home to and that knows how to cook I feel that they are the keepers.

Hello-

Coming from a recent divorce, I found and think that you need to work on *you*...Get to loving you again, and do not worry about the dating...Do things that you like to do...Sometimes people rush back into relationships based on a fear of being alone, or better yet not knowing how to adjust... They become co-dependent... Do some things to take your mind off of a partner rigth now, and just enjoy being single again....

Some men don't want to be accountable to anyone. That's fine as long as they're honest about it. But there's also more women these days that don't want a committed relationship, either.

I agree I am seperated and when I do start looking for a date I am soo looking forward to dating and forplay and things like that.
