Gas and Heartburn due to normal body changes.
If it is severe pain, don't be afraid to make an extra doctor's appointment or even go to the ER. The worst they can do is to tell you you are fine...they can't jail you for being concerned.

I had sharp pains in my ribs as well as my stomach. My doctor said it was growing pains and that my muscles were stretching. Your's could be for the same reason but you should check with your doc to be sure.

I expect that it is a given, because I had it with all 3 of my pregnancies. I think it is where your body is having to shift to make room to expand. The book;" What to Expect when you are Expecting" is the worlds greatest book for answering little questions like that when you are a first time mommie.

you may experience rib pains as your body begins to change to accomodate a baby inside.
