Yes, of course. People were doing trigonometry and measuring triangles long before there were calculators. Unknown lengths in a lot of situations can be figured out by dropping a few perpendiculars and using the pythagorean theorem, which predated trigonometry by at least a thousand years.

Your question does not make sense. Are you asking not to use trig or not to use a calculator? The definition of trig is any math involving triangles. Finding the sine of an angle is trig. How can you do it without trig?

I would get a Trigonometry chart. It lists the sin, cos, and tan of all degrees. If you are not allowed to do so because it is considered cheating, than i would cheat. But that is only if you are not allowed to use calculator, otherwise, I would try to use one.

If the line opposite the angle in question has length 1 and the hypotenuse has length 2 then they have a ratio of
1:2 or sin = .5
simple division and sohcahtoa
google it if you haven't seen sohcahtoa before

Theorem of Pythagoras, a(sq) = b(sq) plus c(sq). Or you could get the tables, which we use in examinations when a calculator isn't allowed (They show all the sin cos and tan but I'm not sure if you can get them because we can only get them written in Irish so I don't know if they are in other countries...?!?)

Length is not a term usually used in trigonometry. I assume if you didn't want to use trigonometry, you could use a ruler and measure the triangle.
