My husband is in the military and had recieved orders to go to a new base. So we started the process of buying a house in new location, then the President came up with this new plan and now we are stuck at our current base until after he deploys. We already signed alot of paperwork and put down $500 earnest money- no money down besides that. My question is now that the orders have been deleted are we still liable for anything here? Can we get back earnest? We havent told the realtor yet-help- closing date is next week!

Typically certain conditions have to be met in order for the contract to be void and you to receive your money back. I would look over the conditions to see if there is anything that might let you out of it. Otherwise, you should just call your real estate agent and pray that your story is compelling enough that you get your money back.

Yikes that is rough. Did your paperwork include anything about his orders? Often real estate and mortgage officers will include clauses when someone is in the military.
If you have signed all the bank papers there may be some penalties to get out of the contract.
I would talk to your real estate agent and bank immediately and let them know. You will probably loose the earnest money, it depends on the sellers.

You have a closing next week??? I think your screwed..If fact the seller might have grounds for a suit. Out of pocket expense's, the house he is buying might in jeopardy, all kinds of bad stuff for you.. There is a thing called the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act..Because of that the banks can't foreclose a mortgage, etc. without some sort of intervention by the courts..Check with your attorney to see if it can be of any help to you....Good luck, you'll need it..

In so much instances, a truly property dealer will have to have urged protective you from taking flight from your agreement, so I might ask the realtor approximately that first. Otherwise, I consider you BS. I have 2 cats myself and of direction I might no longer supply them up, primarily while you're purchasing a dwelling, that is side of the cosmetic of possession. Sorry to listen to approximately your stresses, however you will be protected!
