I thought I was the only one who feels this way! Glad to know there are others.
I live near a city that has lots of celebs & spottings are pretty common-- it just doesn't excite me....
I think real heros are soldiers who protect us, firemen, police officers.... those who risk themselves to help others....

Some celebs have been gifted by God with some amazing talents.
If you are a music lover then you cannot deny that meeting Mozart or Beethoven in the here after would not be a real thrill.
I look forward to meeting many famous people both from the past and the future. When we get to Heaven of course.

While I enjoy a good movie, or stage production, love listening to music, or better yet finding a great songwriter... I am with you on this STAR power. I do not follow the HYPE.
These people get way overpaid!! While our children are getting less and less at school. The schools around my area have cut music, drama, and art programs. And the teachers are not getting bumped up like they should.
This is a sad sad situation.

I agree. I do like musicians, but not to find out where they live or get their address or email; just find the next cd they make, and buy it... because I enjoy their music, not them. Some celebrities are so empty, you have to worry that someone might let all the hot air out, and they'll disappear!

I'd ignore them all.
They are just paid to do a job, which is to entertain us, then go away, we are morons for putting this lot on a pedestal and for actually placing greater value on what they say than informed people in the civic community.

I'm with you. Could care less about their lives. I think it's sad that more people know the stars of movies, tv programs, musicians, etc., than know who their state legislators are.

You said it perfectly. Celebrities just seem to have a distorted view of reality. They just don't seem to get it. And yet everyone adores them, even after they make the stupidest mistakes. It makes absolutely no sense to me...

I have no idea what the fascination is either, I couldn't care less about what (insert any famous name) is doing.

Most of them certainly aren't worth my time or my energy and certainly aren't worth my money at the theatre/concert.
