hwo can i open a file and see what is in it?

i need to know by 5:00

It depends largely on what the content of the file is... However, all files can be viewed in a hex editor, although most look like complete gibberish to the untrained eye.

Post more details about the file (what is it, what filetype) and I'm sure you'll get better answers.

The norm would be to double click the file and open it..
Or you can Right-Hand click and click explore.

you just double click on it..
