Grass over concrete?

I have a backyard with a lot of concrete and wanted to know if i could grass over the concrete?

This wouldn't be a good idea. If you put dirt over concrete then sow grass, it might be fine until it gets dry ...like in the summer. I don't know where you live, but my septic tank, which is concrete always has dead grass on top of it in the summer and there is about 10 inches of dirt over it! Sorry, I would pull the concrete up then sow grass.

Actually, YES you can. The only rule of thumb that you have to remember is that when it is getting hotter that they spot where you put the grass over the concrete will need more watering. Make sure that you do put soil over the concrete so that it will get some kind of base to root to. As for the person that was getting dry brown grass over their septic, your septic is set too high. You need to contact a contractor and tell them that they need to bury it lower.

No, unless you break up the concrete with a jackhammer and then cover it with 4 or more inches of soil. If you leave it unbroken, even covering with that much soil will not work well and you might have drainage problems also.

Yes, put about 2 inches of dirt, or sod over it and soon no one will know the concrete was ever there.

i wouldnt think this would work . the concreate is hard and grass wouldnt be able to go through it
