I once went to a Vidal Sassoon salon in Chicago with medium length hair and just let the stylist do whatever she wanted.
I had my contact lenses out, so the mirror was just a blur. It turned out to be like an inexperienced carpenter trying to level some table legs. I left with the shortest pixie-like do--almost like a crewcut -- that I had ever seen. People would literally turn and gape on the street.
Aside from crying, I wore *lots* of eye makeup for about 6 months and tried to pretend that I wanted it that way.

My shortest haircut was a little above my ears because my mom liked my hair that way when I was younger.

it was to my ears. i was two and i reguanted it for the rest of my life saying i am only 12

just above the shoulder, i couldn't get it into a ponytail, it was too short for me, i like long hair
