there could be a number of reasons. it could just be that you're asking at a bad time, when they already have plans. or it could be that you need to find a new set of friends; perhaps these people that you consider "friends" aren't really. personally, if i asked people to go to lunch a few times and they kept refusing, i would find new friends.

You didn't state your age, so it might be harder to answer you. I had the same problem until about the Junior year of college and it was clear I was headed toward a military career. Then people took notice of me and included me in their activities. When I got to graduate school, it changed again because I got engaged and was married. The single friends then broke off and we associated with other married couples.
Hang in there. Things will eventually improve unless you have some bad personal things like not bathing or using deodorant, etc. If you have these personal things, then clean up and things will improve as people realize that you don't smell bad, etc.

My answer will depend on how old you are...
Are they really you friends if they don't go places with you?
Or maybe they don't like to watch you eat? Are they anorexic? I think you need new friends.

If it bothers you then you should say maybe next time we can invite ______, this time let's just have lunch ourselves.
You have to ask for what you want otherwise you won't get it and you'll be unhappy.

Ask them why they never want to go with you. Tell them that you know you could ask other people, but you wanted to ask them. If they're your friends, then they shouldn't mind going.

sounds strange to me. you'd think if they were your friends they'd like spending time with you. i love going to eat with my friends. sorry, but i don't understand yours. sounds like you need a new set of friends. do they get together and go out to eat; if so, then they are excluding you on purpose and you need to forget them.
