Is ANYthing even truly scary anymore?

Today's younger audiences have been exposed to stuff that would've been banned 30 years ago. So most are totally desensitized to fright on film.

So what's shocking & scary to them??

The last original appraoch to horror I've seen in recent years was 'Blair Witch'.

Big budget horror (along w/ big names, & an MTV soundtrack w/ the hottest new artists) just doesn't add up to scary in my book...

That's the problem to me- it's all about gore now. Anyone can do that. Gore doesn't necessarily = scary.

No one seems to be writing & producing true horror anymore.

The younger crowd seems to be into gore and torture these days. I'm not... ghost movies like The Ring and The Grudge give me the creeps... and I just love Silent Hill.

I like horror movies however I cant name a horror movie I have like in the past 10 years.

I have a friend who has me watching a lot of indie and foreign horror movies . They seem to have more suspense, some gore but not overdone and a better storyline .

They use too many special effects now. What ever happened to being afraid of the dark? Scary movies where the devil is after people. They all seem the same now. They show you everything. Nothing left to be scared of anymore.
Also, The Hitcher is a remake.

its ridiculous nowdays. The best horror film EVER made was Halloween. THey made it for only 300k and it made over 50 million dollars. That is real horror, not this new garbage
