ok...my daughter wanted a hamster REALLY bad and her dad said NO NO NO!! She got pissy and he got superior.
That being said...here is what my daughter did:
After slamming her door...she wrote on a piece of paper the pro's and con's of owning a hamster. She also made a cute little certificate for her dad promising to be a good owner, showing a schedule for cage cleaning, and setting aside some of her alowance for food and bedding. She also wrote a letter of apology explaining to her dad that she was so passionate about getting a hamster that she let her emotions get the better of her. She then wrote in the letter that she hoped he could start over with her and discuss SERIOUSLY the opportunity to prove herself worthy of the responsibility of being a pet owner.
Hope that helps!
(and yes, she got the hamster AND her fathers respect)

Parents only really say that to make you think about what you've done. Talk to him and tell him that you're sorry for blowing up at him and that you were only upset because you really want one. If he still says no ask him why he won't even consider getting you one. Maybe he is feels unsure about a specific part of the animal. Maybe he doesn't like the ideal of small animals or maybe he just doesn't want you to have a hamster. Figure out what the problem is. Then ask him if you work on the area that he is concerned about then will he consider getting you a hamster. More then likely he'll agree on this. But your going to have to show him patience and that you can really take care of a hamster. Especially if this is your first pet. . . . . .
Also, you can't make him say yes, but you can give him a gentle push in the direction of it. . . . . well, good luck!

and after he does show him a picture of a python and then a picture of a hamster.......and say it's up to you daddy!

Parents are hard to push for rodent pets because they think they will have to do all the work. SHow them how responsible you can be.

Make sure you apologize and then act really depressed. Daddy's cant stand for their little girls to be upset. Good Luck, I have had hampsters all my life and they are so sweet!
