No and yes---- put the red clamp on the positive post of the battery. connect the black negative to a body , frame, or engine ground away from the battery. That way you don't cause a spark over the hydrogen gas and oxygen coming out of the battery.

Hook both cables on the good battery first. Hook the red to the positive post, hook the black to an engine ground away from the battery to prevent sparks and exploding batteries. Never do it the other way, because the good battery will be hot and generating explosive gases.

Yes but whenever possible look at the battery posts for the words POS or NEG (or + and - ) , and connect like posts to each other regardless of the color.

That's it exactly.
Connect both cables to dead battery first. Then connect positive cable to good batter...finally connect negative cable to good battery...this will prevent sparking.

yes,connect pos. on both batteries to red and both negatives to black,or preferably the black should be grounded to bare metal on the cars

Yes,hook up the dead battery first and make sure not to touch any metal with the other ends while doing so.Also make sure the car giving the jump is running.After the car is jumped it should run for 20 minutes or prefferably driven at least 10.
