Although I adore snowdrops and some are already about to burst open, i still think of more winter to come, but the daffodils epitomise spring for me. Crocus and daffies together, really really spring.

dottydog - tell me about them, the dreaded grape hyacinths, they're indestructible lol

Hillbilly and Muffinman - a carpet of snowdrops in the forest and glades, ne'er a prettier sight than this.

This is going to be very difficult, choosing, i agree with them all, thanks everyone :-)

You've got it exactly right, but those snowdrops really get me feeling better. I got tons in the woods beside the house.

Crocus is the one for me but I already have daffodils in bloom in my garden - how did that happen?

For me, it has to be crocus. Out before the traditional spring bulb(daffs), for me it's the true harbinger of spring
