well truth is not so much i never tried them but i have seen alot of people talk about the motion sickness bracelets? they sell them at the drug store but for the nausea i would try eating small meals through out the day then mint is a natural stomach settlers that's why peptobismo is mint flavored so try hard candy, tea,gum also ice pushed to the roof of your mouth helps they say i tried it and it did help some but the mint really did the trick! hopefully not to much longer will you feel this bad! good luck and if it gets to bad talk to your doctor!

I toatally understand my daughter turned 2 right after i found out i was pregnant and it was exhasting. She actually started mocking me ever time i threw up! Things that worked for me both times were eating lemons (i know kina wierd but i worked), try the preggo pops they sell them at Motherhood Maternity and some places online, keep eating even though its hard cause your baby will still get most of the nutrients before you throw it up, eat crackers all day. With my son i had it so bad that i hadnt been able tohold anything down for a week and had a horrible migrane, my doc prescibed me something specifically for excess naseua and vomiting I would ask about that if it gets too bad. There are a lot of other wives tales that work for some but not others, none really worked for me. Try all of them you have nothing to lose. Good luck, it will prolly stop at about 14 weeks.

Ask for Zofran. It is wonderful and safe for the baby. It melts on your tongue. Ask about motion sickness medication, too. I've had friends take Dramamine. Some women also find those sea band wrist band thingies work well.
I also keep several bags of lemon candies and peppermints around. The peppermints especially work really well.
Eat before bed, especially carbs. I read to eat apples and drink milk right before bed. My morning sickness is much better this time around (#2) when I eat at night. I'm sick of apples, but that's okay!

Oh boy! My wife was sick up until about week 22. She couldn't eat, drink, sleep, even smell ANYTHING! She threw up all the time, seeing food, smelling food, thinking about it, hearing about it. (hyperemesis) Argh! She tried the crackers at night, many smaller meals, vitamins, advice, advice, advice...Nothing seemed to work. She was prescribed an RX pepcid for wicked heartburn and metoclopramide to help with the nausea. She was even prescribed a suppository at one point because she couldn't keep anything down at all. It came to the point of dehydration and weight loss that had her hospitalized at 11 weeks. She had large ketones (a measure of the body "feeding" itself on the muscle proteins as a defense mechanism). Fortunately for a drug called Zofran, used primarily for chemo patients to ease the discomfort of the radiation, she began to improve. However, this drug was majorly expensive, at the start, +$25 per pill, at least three times a day. She said that the Zofran was most worth the cost, and the peace of mind. Our beautiful son was born at 39 weeks and 3 days at 20.5 inches and 7 lbs 2 oz. There were no complication to mother or baby and everyone is doing awesome. Best of luck to you and hang in there. My wife said that for as bad as she had it, after seeing our son, she would do this all over again, "morning sickness" and all.

Before you get out of bed, have some crackers at your bedstand. Eat a couple of them. If that doesn't work, ginger is the best and natural nausea cure. If you can get some Ginger Altoids, they are the closest thing to real ginger, otherwise some ginger ale would work too. There is also a product called SeaBands, which I have heard work.

Vitamin B6 is the best for it. Ginger can be dangerous in the first trimester because it can cause a miscarriage if taken to large of a dose, it can bring on bleeding, this came directly from my midwife and a health food store that I go to.
I know that for women who have SEVERE vomiting the OB/GYN will prescribe either phenergan or even unisom (yes, the sleeping pill)...but you should speak with your OB/GYN BEFORE doing either of these.

I totally agree with the vitamin B6, for 1 week it didn't seem to work but after that 1 week I never even felt sick again. I had to remember to take it everyday though, if I forgot sometimes it would mildly come back.

i feel for you girl i had it bad myself, i kept nothing down.
i tried ginger ale,7-up,Sprite,juice,pedalight,jello,toast,crackers, and Gatorade. none of these stayed down i was sick all day in fact i got dehydrated in a matter of 4 days. i Had to go to the hospital got blood work done 3 different times it took just to get one small tube from me then they pumped me with 4 bags of iv and a anti- nausea medicine. then they did a blood gas test for more better results. they said my electrolytes were low. i was sick like that two different times . they gave me a pr at the hospital and it didn't work. then my doc gave me a different pr which is normally giving to people going through chemo and that did the trick.
