I mean a lot of people like to think they are politically correct and "correct" in general , right?

I have noticed it really hits some nerves when you start to question their robot brains.
What do you think could be the reason?

The word brainwashed is inflammatory, the English language can be utilitized to be a lot more diplomatic.

Well first don't come on with "their robot brains" business. Maybe they actually believe in whatever it is that makes you feel they're incorrect. Secondly if your position is in fact the "correct" one then I presume you could use logic, reasoning, and established facts to convince them of their wrong-headed beliefs. If you know they're wrong and you're right and you're getting nowhere then let it go. If your position is truly the "correct" one then it will become self-evident through the natural passage of time or events. No-one repeat no-one responds well to an arrogant person presuming to know what's the right way to think. Many a politician has learned that lesson the hard way.

This can be answered by an example you can do yourself, think about something that you believe that is very true to you, whether it is religious, political or just a belief in something else in general and now imagine someone telling you that it is all a load of crap none of it is true and that you need to think for yourself..... wouldn't that piss you off?

Beacause they like to think THEY have arrived at that way of thinking themselves, not by they help of Murdoch or Bush or Blair, they think there is safety in not questionning the established way of thinking (bit like China)
thank hell for my wonderful mind, and yours!

People who are being "accused" always become "defensive". You've put that relationship between you, so, what choice do they have besides ignoring you. God Bless you.
